I joined Easter Seals as a vocational counselor working with individuals with disabilities to help them develop skills and to find and maintain jobs. I progressed through the organization, taking on new responsibilities as Director of Vocational Training Programs, VP of Vocational Services and COO. In 1989, I became Easter Seals New Jersey\'s President and CEO. My interest in social services and in helping others grew from my service in the US Military. I joined the Army fresh out of college and served as an Infantry Leader, first as a Rifle Platoon Leader and later as Captain of a combat support company. I attribute my success at growing Easter Seals New Jersey from a small operation to a multi-million, 2700-employee organization to the training, decision-making and sense of responsibility I learned and developed in the military.Career Highlights:(1) Designed a financial strategy to build a stable financial platform to support the largest Easter Seals in the US with an operating budget of $105 million.(2) Led and empowered staff and volunteers to provide caring support to people with disabilities and their families, resulting in a 95% satisfaction rating.(3) Championed the use of technology to support customer service, organizational processes and significantly reduced time and costs.(4) Led advocacy efforts which passed legislation and provided resources to improve the employability of the disabled, supplied appropriate housing, and improved access to health care.(5) Led implementation of the planned giving strategy for National Easter Seals.Strengths: leadership, strategic management, policy and program development, marketing and communications and finance management.If you want to find out more about what I do, please don\'t be a stranger: b••••••••@nj.easterseals.com.    Leads a multi-corporate non-profit organization with 2700 staff in 200 locations serving individuals with disabilities with a budget of $105 million- Instituted an investment policy that built reserve funds leading to financial sustainability-Established a balanced portfolio of fundraising methods that included special events, planned giving and major gifts-Shepherded innovative programs that grew out of strategic relationships with for-profit technology companies and universities that delivered direct benefits to people with disabilities-Mobilized the establishment of social media and technology strategies to modernize message distribution to the community and upgraded the capabilities to capture and monitor information-Directed the development of Human Capital Management that was recognized as a Center of Excellence by the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. The program identified and trained potential leaders within the organization.
