ABOUT BITA ABDI
I am a medical doctor (MD) and public health researcher, currently working as a Lecturer in Health and Social Care in the UK. My work focuses on public health, health inequalities, and research methods, with a strong emphasis on equipping students with critical appraisal skills and applying evidence-based approaches to real-world health challenges. My research explores behavioural public health and the health impacts of climate change, particularly how environmental exposures shape population health and widen inequalities. I work with mixed-methods approaches and contribute to the design of prevention-focused, policy-relevant interventions. With a background in clinical practice and healthcare leadership, I bring a practical, systems-level perspective that connects frontline care with wider determinants of health and public health policy.
