Have deep technical knowledge in Essbase internals, Essbase Calculation modules, Analytics, Multi-dimensional modelling.Essbase (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Essbase) is a highly strategic product for Oracle under its Database suite which enables multi-dimensional aggregation, complex calculation and reporting for internal and external customers. Essbase delivers to various channels – Oracle Cloud Marketplace, Fusion apps, Exalytics, Oracle Analytics Suite, EPM Cloud services – PBCS, FCCS etc. Essbase manages multi-dimensional data and helps user run complex analysis and reporting on the data. Essbase is now getting integrated with Oracle flagship Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) to take advantage of the massive scalability of ADW on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Oracle ADW users now have the ability to directly run their simulations for what-if analysis on the data stored in relational schema, create additional business hierarchies to get different understanding of their data to make better and informed business decisions.Team is also working on integrating Natural Language Query to support the ad-hoc query use-cases from customer. This is being implemented using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Generative AI Large Language Model (primarily Cohere), Oracle Vector Database in 23ai REST interface of Essbase. The goal is to help Essbase user do speed-of-thought analysis using Natural Language and conversational capabilities.

   Managing a team who works on various modules in Essbase - calculation, data-loading, partitioning, kernel interfaces etc. The work is extremely challenging dealing with highly optimized and scalable data structure, high level of multi-threading, highly concurrent multi-user systems. The core work is in C, C++,Java and requires deep knowledge in data structure, algorithms & operating systems. Handled multiple end-to-end software release cycles, supported multiple generations of product, brought key improvements in the module.Responsibilities include- Lead the team to develop cutting edge applications for the next generation calculation engine which is the most powerful feature of Essbase. Also owner of the data-loading (highly efficient pipe-lined architecture) and data export modules- Work with partner, product management and customers to understand the needs, requirement analysis, architect and come-up with prototype, solidify the feature and come-up with final feature. Work with customer to deploy and tune the feature in their environment- Hands on technical manager, work with team to analyze technical issues, identify alternative solutions, finalize design, work with testing and performance team- Handle customer escalations. Attend calls with technical support/customer. Debug at customer’s environment. Look at customer’s model, analyze issues – come-up with workaround and/or new feature to address the requirements- Work on all project management activities - release management – feature tunneling through multiple releases, costing, bug triaging, interfacing with internal teams for feature uptake, feature scheduling, monitoring, status reporting, bug monitoring and triaging, release branching strategy, IT resource planning- Handled all people management activities like – end-to-end recruitment, on-barding and training of new employees, grooming them to be highly productive engineers, appraisals, career development, compensation planning etc.
