About Ashley Bissell
I am an interdisciplinary scientist developing scalable, physics-informed computational methods for complex physical systems. I bring 10+ years of experimental physical sciences and materials R&D experience, including leadership of $2.7M in SBIR-funded aerospace and energy programs and a deep understanding of materials property processing optimization and technical ceramic manufacturing. I am now expanding that foundation into scientific computing and machine learning, completing a B.S. in Computer Science (Spring 2026) and contributing to physics-aware neural networks, numerical methods, and GPU-accelerated systems through research at Argonne National Laboratory and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. My work aims to advance computational methods by improving the efficiency, scalability, and physical fidelity of algorithms that support scientific and engineering innovation, especially in domains with high potential for societal impact such as energy generating and energy consuming technologies.
