Project- “Construction of Tunnels T 17 to T20 from chainage Km 50+900 to Km 62+900, Station Yard and Works related to Bridges and Formation on approached of such Tunnels in connection with new single line broad gauge rail link between Bhanupali-Bilaspur-Beri in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India.”Duties and responsibilities• Execution and supervision of tunnel construction for ~4 km of Tunnels T17–T20 using NATM, including excavation, drilling, blasting, and mucking for a 78.7 sqm cross-sectional area. • Installation of primary support systems, including lattice girders, rock bolts (SN and SDA), wire mesh, shotcrete, and piperoof umbrellas in poor rock classes. • Decision-making during adverse geological conditions, such as fault zones and water ingress, to ensure safe and efficient tunnel advancement. • Quality assurance through material testing (e.g, shotcrete mix trials, PVC membrane, geotextile felt, cement grout) as per Indian Standard Codes and QAP/ITP. • PU grout, injection grout, and other grouting operations to stabilize crown in weak geological zones, enhancing structural integrity and minimizing caving risks. • Measurement of quantities for construction materials and works, ensuring accurate documentation for billing and progress tracking. • Review and verification of monthly Running Account (RA) bills, ensuring compliance with measurements and contractual requirements. • Review and assistance in preparation of Daily Progress Reports (DPR), Weekly Progress Reports (WPR), and Monthly Progress Reports (MPR), coordinating with project teams. • Soil suitability testing (e.g, SPT, Ev2, MDD, FDD, moisture content) for earthwork and formation, ensuring compliance with project specifications.• Coordination and Liaising between State Authorities, Employer and Contractor for smooth progress.
