As a Data Analyst at Morningstar Inc. in the Managed Investment Data Team, I work extensively with private funds, custom funds, custom plans, and separate accounts, with a primary focus on the Canada and US markets. Ensuring accuracy, reliability, and integrity of performance data across a plethora of Morningstar products. My role combines data validation, calculation, client collaboration, and quality assurance, enabling fund companies and investors to access transparent and trustworthy insights. My Responsibilities Encompass:• Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of investment performance data across multiple Morningstar products, supporting global asset managers and institutional investors with reliable insights.• Specialize in private funds (CP/CFs) and separate accounts, calculating and validating sensitive datapoints such as NRR (Net Raw Returns), GRR (Gross Raw Returns), TNA (Total Net Assets), Unit Value and Pricing.• Collaborate with global fund houses including BNP Paribas, HSBC, Franklin Templeton, Credit Suisse, J.P. Morgan, and State Street to resolve discrepancies and maintain client satisfaction.• Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) reviews across regions (APAC, EMEA, and Americas) to uphold global data quality standards.• Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and timely resolution of issues.• Contribute to a culture of data transparency and operational excellence, enabling better investment decision-making.
