ABOUT BIRGIT PLIETZSCH

With over six years of experience as a User Researcher, I am passionate about driving exceptional digital service development and delivery for my clients through advocating for the needs of the users of these services. I am BPSS cleared and experienced in adding value to digital projects through providing insights into the needs, behaviours, and preferences of users. I apply a range of qualitative and quantitative methods to answer research questions, and I ensure the compliance with the Scottish Government Digital Service / Digital First and UK Government GDS standards and ethics.I have successfully delivered user research for various projects, such as- the Dodona environmental data service discovery project- the development of the Adult Disability Payment (the benefit that is replacing the Personal Independence Payment in Scotland), and - the development of ScotAccount (a digital identity verification service that is being developed for Government and public sector services in Scotland). I have undertaken research at discovery, alpha and beta project stages and am experienced in planning and carrying out research programs to agreed ethical standards. I have a strong background in open source / open standard agile environments, as well as in PRINCE2, ITIL, and online education and training. I am a mentor and a leader, who coaches individuals and teams to reach their full potential and upskill their capabilities.
