About Birajan Bhandari
I manage the Building Performance Engineer team in the USA at IES, and I am based in Baltimore, Maryland. My Bachelor\'s degree (B.Tech.) in Electrical Engineering is from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, India, Allahabad (MNNIT), and I earned my Master\'s degree (MS) in Energy Systems Engineering from San Francisco State University. During my studies at SF State, I got an opportunity to perform 29 industrial energy audits through the Industrial Assessment Center (IAC), a Department of Energy-funded project.Upon graduation from SF State, I joined IES as a Building Performance Engineer. Since then, I have been providing training and assistance to clients on high-performance sustainability building energy modeling projects using IES Virtual Environment software. Additionally, I have obtained certification as a USGBC LEED Green Associate.I am also a member of ASHRAE and currently serve as a voting member of the ASHRAE Standard 140 committee, which focuses on standard methods of test for building energy simulation programs.Experiences: Energy Modelling, HVAC design for commercial buildings, HVAC calculations and load analysis, Solar PV Design, Solar Thermal Design, Energy Efficiency, Commercial Energy Modeling, MEP modeling, Renewable Energy Systems, Energy Saving Measures (ESMs), Energy Audits, Design of Micro (up to 100 kW) Hydro Power.
