ABOUT BIPLAB MANDAL
I have completed my M.Sc. in Geoinformatics from Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ). I am passionate about becoming a Geospatial Data Scientist and applying machine learning algorithms to analyze remote sensing data. My Master’s dissertation is titled:\"Spatiotemporal Assessment of Major Air Pollutants and their Climatic Interactions for Health Risk Mapping in Parts of India Using Geoinformatics and Machine Learning Model\"The primary aim of my research is to analyze the spatial and temporal patterns of major air pollutants (CO, NO₂, SO₂, CH₄, PM2.5, and O₃), investigate their relationship with climatic factors (such as land surface temperature and precipitation), and enhance health risk mapping across Bihar. Health risk mapping is the process of identifying, analyzing, and visualizing areas where populations are at risk due to environmental, climatic, or socio-economic factors. In the context of remote sensing and geospatial analysis, it involves integrating satellite data, pollution levels (such as PM2.5, NO₂, SO₂, CO, O₃, CH₄), and climatic parameters (like land surface temperature and precipitation) to assess exposure and vulnerability to health hazards.Using tools such as GIS and machine learning algorithms (e.g, Random Forest, SVM, XGBoost), spatial models can be developed to pinpoint high-risk zones. These maps help policymakers, urban planners, and public health officials make informed decisions for mitigation, resource allocation, and long-term planning.Health risk mapping not only highlights pollution hotspots but also reveals how environmental stressors impact human health, especially in densely populated or vulnerable regions such as Bihar.
