About Binu John
Binu John, MD, MPH is Associate Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Associate Chief of Medicine, Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Miami VA Medical Center and lead for the VISN 8 GI Community of Practice. He is a board certified Transplant Hepatologist and Gastroenterologist with clinical and research interests in hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer), primary biliary cholangitis, portal hypertension and steatotic liver disease. Dr John is a site principal investigator in numerous studies related to liver cancer (federal and industry funded) in the field of biomarker development as well as Phase 1 to phase 4 clinical trials and is VA MERIT funded. He has over 100 publications in leading journals including Nature, JAMA Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and the Journal of Hepatology. He serves as an Associate Editor for Digestive Diseases and Sciences and guest editor for Clinics in Liver Disease. Dr. John has an active interest in resident and fellow education. He is a fellow of the American Association of Study of Liver Diseases (FAASLD).
