Working at one of the most Luxurious heritage properties in North America, as a group reservations specialist to play a part in assisting with conferences, corporate events, and weddings for group reservations, client liaisoning, system configuration for group blocks, billing, and auditing.Other responsibilities would include inventory control, and collaboration with other departments, such as sales, accounting, F&B, housekeeping, and front desk to set up the team for success.Cross-trained with the following other departments to better understand the chain of operations- Rooms Blocking: A part of our Front-Office team, specializes in room allocation, hotel inventory management, live room allotment, and various other tasks via Opera PMS- Conference Services: Trained with our team of Conference service managers who overlooks the multitude of operations for Group events at the hotel, such as Corporate events, Conferences for Associations and incentive trips, along with Weddings. This opportunity was key for me to understand the mapping of events 2-4 years ahead in time, and how crucial the coordination between departments is during its execution.
