I look after payroll using Sage 50, making sure everything is fully compliant with PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments, RTI submissions, and workplace pension requirements. I keep employee payroll records up to date, tracking hours, salaries, bonuses, and deductions so pay runs are always accurate and on time. I manage onboarding and leaver processes, including starter checklists, P45s, and P60s, and I’ve also helped streamline invoice approval workflows.Alongside this, I carry out regular bank reconciliations and keep purchase and sales ledgers in order, quickly spotting and resolving any discrepancies. I handle accounts payable and receivable queries, reconcile supplier statements, and work to reduce aged balances to support healthy cash flow. I also maintain the fixed asset register, recording additions, disposals, and monthly depreciation, and manage subcontractor payments in line with CIS requirements, ensuring HMRC returns are submitted on time. Overall, I oversee nominal accounts, tax codes, and the chart of accounts to support clear, reliable financial reporting.
