About Bin Wang
Extensive experience on in vivo neuropharmacology research covering neurosurgery and biochemical and behavioral studies.• Hand-on in vivo electrophysiology experience on neurodegenerative diseases animal models.• Experienced in independent interpretation of results, follow-up, and design of subsequent experiments for complex research.• A team worker who have record of providing support activities for different research projects.• Have effective communication skills in comprehensive document generation, detailed descriptions of analytical methods, bioanalytical reports and scientific presentation.Core Competencies: • Rodent survival surgeries: 1) Stereotactic surgery: EEG, microdialysis guide cannulae and other cranial implantation; ICV or intro-brain or Intraspinal microinjection, Nucleus lesion by electrical or neurotoxin method. 2) Free-hand surgery: mouse model of middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) surgery, chronic I.V. catheter implanted surgery; Osmotic pump placement/removal. Rodent CSF collection. IVIS imaging• Ophthalmology surgeries, model building, and tissue collection: 1) Intraocular injections (mouse IVT and subretinal injection). 2) Optic nerve crush. 3) Experiment uveitis mouse model (mEAU) building. 4) retina/RPE collection (fresh tissue and fixed tissue), retina flat mount.• in vivo Electrophysiology: Evoked potentials (EPs) and EEG recording on awake or anesthetized rats and mice, • compound muscle action potentials (CMAP) in mouse model of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). • Behavioral Neuroscience: conditioned place preference model (CPP), as well as reinstatement of extinguished CPP model which can mimic human relapse behavior. Rodents’ drug self-administration model of addictive drugs and other learning and memory rodents’ model. • Tissue & Cell Analysis: Immunocytochemistry | Transfection | Immunohistochemistry | Mammalian cell culture• Molecular Biology: pDNA expansion | IVT mRNA production • Histochemisty: Standard Cresyl violet staining method, RPGR staining, TH immunohistochemistry, Microscopy: light microscopy. • Neurochemical technique: use High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) or ELISA to test different neurotransmitters and drugs concentration in microdialysis (CNS or peripheral), CSF, or plasma samples. • Mathematical and statistical software: Statview, Graphpad Prizm • Others: Presentation| Technical writing | Team management | Data processing and interpretation | Multi-tasking
