Career spanning over 29 years in the financial sectors in India & overseas, in building & driving businesses, as well as managing compliance & control functions. Presently the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) of the Bank. Apart from managing the Compliance function of the Bank, the current role includes AML related compliance, oversight of Compliance functions of subsidiaries & foreign branches. Before this, was heading the Finance & Accounts Department at the Bank, since 2014. Responsibilities included financial reporting as per Indian GAAP as well as Ind-AS, Direct & Indirect Taxation, Business Plan & Budgeting, Cost Management, Capital Planning & Management, Transfer Pricing, Compliance and Regulatory & other reporting, & managing PSL achievement of the Bank, apart from responsibilities as member of the working group for ALCO, towards devising strategies for funding, liquidity and capital requirement and monitoring business objectives & regulatory requirements. Till 2019, the functions of Central Payments Hub, Central Procurement, Central Outsourcing team and Internal Financial Control (IFC) used to report to me, which moved out from the list of my responsibilities, pursuant to change in organizational structure. Before moving to Finance & Accounts Dept, I was the CEO Singapore Branch, of the Bank, during the period 20••••13, being in charge of the unit with reporting from all the verticals, including Credit, Trade Finance, Capital Markets, Treasury, Private Banking, Compliance, Financial Accounting, Taxation and Operations.Before moving to Singapore, worked in India across different verticals, including Lending to Large Corporate as Sector Head & Relationship Manager, lending to Small & Medium & Agri segments as Zonal Head SME & Agri lending, as a dealer in Treasury, as part of Capital Markets team in Central Office and as Branch heads in Delhi,(GK1 & Greenpark) in Retail Banking. Arpart from the Branch stint, the other responsibilities were at Corporate Office & Eastern Zonal Office. Worked with the working group of RBI for preparation of draft guidelines for IndAS for banks in India. Before joining UTI/ Axis Bank, worked with SIDBI for 3 years from 19••••95. Joined as MT after passing out CA. Worked in two set ups, domestic & international resource mobilization & lending to NBFCs. Passed out ICAI & ICWA exams in November/ December 1991. A rank holder in CA final exam.Wife is an engineer, currently a home maker. We have one daughter, currently working in Netherlands, post her masters, while son is studying in grade 11, in Mumbai.
