Natural Area Preserve and forest research organization Aton Forest, Inc. is a small but mighty 501c3 with 2500 acres of protected wildlands in 2 primary forest preserves in Northwest CT. We seek to radically collaborate, locally and regionally, with like-minded organizations and people to achieve healthy outcomes for planet and people. Aton is further organized for scientific research of forest succession and high-value ecological and environmental interpretive studies (long-term, low-cost, low-key) at the southern edge of the Berkshire-Taconic plateau. It serves to build upon the vision of its founder Dr. Frank E. Egler to pursue conservation & preservation of land & natural resources, primary research in the field, citizen science and environmental education, in collaboration with organizations and communities, as we hurtle towards “30 by 30”, a worldwide initiative for governments to designate 30% of Earth\'s land and ocean area as protected areas by 2030.
