About Billy Nelson

I graduated from Central Michigan University where I majored in mental impairments and played baseball. I attended WMU where I received my Masters degree as a Director of Special Education. Currently I am a special education teacher @ Van Buren Tech where I educate students with varying disabilities life skills in order for them to secure employment and live independently in their community. I have worked at an elementary school, middle school as well as the high school setting throughout my twenty five years as a teacher. I am a scratch golfer most of the time and I love coaching any sport, however, coach High School baseball and travel ball where I won two state titles and a little league state title. I continue to volunteer for several Special Olympic sports and enjoy coaching my students with disabilities.
