About Bill Symonds
Over my career in biotechnology, I have played a key role in the development of important medicines for viral diseases and multiple rare disease treatments. I am driven by a desire to accelerate transformative solutions for those who need them most. There are more than known rare diseases that together affect more than 25 million people nationwide. For the vast majority of these conditions – greater than 90% – there is no approved treatment available. Through cross-industry collaboration, I believe we can address the most pressing needs of rare disease patients and their families. I am now focusing on serving on corporate boards and advisory positions in which I can continue to add value and enable the development of important new medicines. Previously, I held senior positions at a number of pharmaceutical companies, working across a variety of areas including drug development, translational medicine, clinical pharmacology, biotechnology and virology.
