As Director of Engineering & Construction and the appointed Port Engineer, Mr. Stahlman is responsible for managing all engineering and construction projects within the Port’s jurisdiction. Responsibilities include- Supervise the day-today operations of the Engineering & Construction Department and prepare a monthly report to the Board of Commissioners on progress of all engineering and construction activities at the Port- Advise the Executive Director and Board of Commissioners on public safety, all infrastructure requirements pertaining to roads, rail, utilities, drainage, and buildings- Negotiate, draft and manage all outside engineering services contracts and work performance- Oversee permitting and construction activities within the Port’s jurisdiction and serve corrective notices or stop work notices on construction activities- Develop and approve plans and specifications for Port engineering and construction projects- Develop testing and inspection standards for infrastructure improvements and develop appropriate policies for managing said improvements- Development of the Port’s Annual Capital Improvement Program- Manage the Port’s internal railroad infrastructure and coordinate rail operations between Port tenants and rail carriers serving the Port- Manage the Port\'s information technology department- Coordinate with city, county, state and federal agencies as required;
