Special Agent William Stack joined FDA - Office of Criminal Investigations in January 2017. Prior to joining FDA, Bill enjoyed his experience with the US Department of State, Diplomatic Security Service (DSS). He started in 2012 as the agency’s Cyber-Tech Program Manager for the Chicago Field Office. He serves as a subject matter expert in Computer Investigations and Forensics (CIF), technical surveillance, and cyber investigations for the agency. During the course of Bill’s criminal cyber investigations, he focuses on collaboration with federal agencies, local law enforcements, private sector companies, and various agencies abroad. Bill’s network of international contacts has facilitated several investigations, both traditional and cyber, to successful conclusions, such as the return of a violent fugitive from overseas and the prosecution of a target using the assistance of US cyber resources located domestically and abroad. In addition to his work on criminal investigations for DSS, Bill has also served in several significant roles in the protection of world leaders with DSS, including US Secretary of State John Kerry, a variety of international Foreign Ministers, and the Dalai Lama. Prior to joining DSS, Bill served for over 7 years as a Special Agent with the US Secret Service While employed with Bill spent a majority of his time serving as a Team Leader for the Electronics Crimes Squad. He developed and investigated network intrusion investigations, investigated complex cyber crimes, and used sophisticated technical equipment to locate evasive and/or violent criminals. In addition to his work on criminal investigations, Bill also served in several leadership roles regarding the protection of current and former US Presidents and foreign heads of state.
