Polyglot code craftsman with a zeal for continuous learning, unit testing, agile methodology, using the best tool for the job, and inspiring team environments. I have 28 years experience writing code for both hardware and software and am actively looking to make the change to an all-software role.I have a strong background in EDA tools used to build complex integrated circuits as well as a diverse software background with significant experience in technologies ranging from C, C++ and Perl to more modern methodologies such as Ruby, MongoDB, Javascript, jQuery and AngularJS. I love new technologies and am always striving to learn more about cutting edge software techniques. I\'m also fanatical about software quality and code craftsmanship. I\'m continuously learning and always looking for new people to work with and learn from.Currently, my technical obsessions center around writing clean and easily maintained code and incorporating aspects of functional programming into everything I do. I\'ve also been fully indoctrinated into the world of test driven designs and find it horribly painful to even think about writing code without unit tests. I consider git, cucumber and unit test frameworks to be absolutely essential to creating good code.I\'m constantly striving to improve my capabilities in these areas and am always looking for new people to work with and learn from. In addition to my work as a software engineer, I\'m a part-time yoga and meditation teacher as well as an entrepreneur in other fields. In the early 1990\'s I ran a critically acclaimed independent record label (Pop Narcotic Records). In addition, I founded two different donation-based yoga studios (Mindful Dog Yoga in 2008 and Lawrence Yoga Collective in 2013). I\'m passionate about self improvement for myself as well as others.
