ABOUT WILLIAM T. LAFOND
As the market president for the Delaware and Eastern Shore of Maryland regions for Wilmington Trust Wealth Management, I am responsible for overseeing the delivery of comprehensive wealth management solutions to high-net worth individuals and families. My team serves clients in every state in the country and in multiple countries throughout the world. I joined Wilmington Trust in 2004 and have over 25 years of wealth management experience. During my career at Wilmington Trust, I have held several senior leadership positions. Prior to my current role, I led the MidAtlantic Region for Wilmington Trust and established and led Wilmington Trust’s Greater Washington, D.C. and Central Virginia markets. I currently serve on the boards of Wilmington Trust, N.A. and Wilmington Trust Company.Outside of work, I proudly serve on several charitable boards. This includes the board of trustees for the Delaware Bankers Association (DBA); as Chairman of the board of trustees for the Ministry of Caring; as a board and finance committee member for Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library; on the finance committee of St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, NJ; on the investment committee of the Catholic Diocese of Wilmington, DE; and on the board of trustees for Ursuline Academy.I am a graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law and the University of Scranton, where I earned a JD and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, respectively. Additionally, I completed a 21-month executive leadership program at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
