ABOUT BILLIE BELLAMY

I am a passionate transformational Nurse Leader, seasoned with 40 years of experience in multiple areas within the Cardiovascular service line, and neurosurgical trauma. Overall experiences include but are not limited to; planning, designing, directing, integrating, coordinating and evaluating nursing services. Major responsibilities included improving performance and ensuring the environment of care standards consistent with Joint Commission, DOH, and other regulatory agencies. I lead cross functional teams as the Primary Project Manager to implement programs such as, a nurse centered ECMO program, Left Ventricular Device services, and a host of other specialized programs. I was chosen to undertake an area that was not only problematic but also a major marketing strategy for the organization. The Cardiac Catheterization/EP lab increased volume and revenue for that organization. The CT ICU unit that I was responsible for received various awards such as the Beacon Gold Award granted by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and the ELSO (Extracorporeal Life Support Organization) Path to Excellence Award.Our CT ICU was redesigned with staff\'s input and transitioned from an 18-bed capacity to a 24-bed state of the art unit. Lastly the Cath lab was able to transition some of the TAVR volume to it\'s area from the OR. This helped growing the volume as well as standardizing the cases thereby impacting on the cost savings.Besides these successful programs, my greatest achievement was being able to grow professionally and personally by serving as a Servant Leader. Teaching as an adjunct professor at Rutgers, Nursing Program helped open the door to further mentoring and growth professionally. I am a Board Certified-Nurse Executive granted by ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center), and I am a Critical Care Registered Nurse granted by AACN (American Association of Critical Care Nurses. I received a certificate of completion from Villanova for Nursing Management. Additionally, I received a Post master\'s Nurse Education certificate from Rutgers University.
