Bill Hawfield is a professional manager, international speaker, business owner and a published, board process authority. He has big company experience as a President of a General Mills division. Helead and funded a start up company, Penguins, which grew to over 130 storesand was sold to an international dairy company. Bill is the cofounder of TheBoard Group (TBG), which creates and manages advisory boards for privately-owned companies. Over $3.0 billion in value has been realized for the owners who sold after using TBG governance processes.His book, “Game-Changing Advisory Boards” received the Pinnacle Book Achievement Award for business books. Bill and his co-author, John Zaepfel, show how to build sustainable value by creating and managing Professional Advisory Board processes in privately held companies. Bill has served on more than forty boards, both fiduciary and advisory, in a wide variety of industries, including distribution, construction, manufacturing, aerospace, financial services, consulting, insurance, and food service. He has served as non-executive chairman, lead director, and a member of audit and compensation committees. He is an international speaker for Vistage, an organization comprising CEOs worldwide. His topics are \"Personal and Business Success\"​ and \"Double the Value of Your Company”, and “The Power of the Board Process.\"​ In 2015, he received Vistage\'s Life Time Achievement award for consistently high speaker ratings. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and has completed the NACD director certification program. He is a faculty member and presenter for the NACD Family Business Boards program in Los Angeles and a supporter of the USC Marshall School’s Center for Family Businesses.
