About Bill Debevc

As far back as I can remember I have been making things. Sometimes with a purpose sometimes not. Sometimes great things, sometimes I look down and say WTF? Making computers do things is what has driven me professionally now. When architecture school didn’t work out, I jumped right into drafting with AutoCAD. As one of the early pioneers in CAD, I soon learned that I loved making AutoCAD do things. With this new found passion, I decided to become the CADGuru. Today I help my fellow designers discover what is possible by learning how they do things, asking why and then together we find a better way. The key is together when we work together we create sustainable solutions.BIMThoughts is my other gig; BIMThoughts is a podcast about BIM Technology and Techniques. Creating BIMThoughts, I have discovered that there is much more to learn about the AEC industry. I also found that podcasting about BIM is the perfect place to share this newly gathered knowledge.

   As an Analysts / Programmer at LPA, I help my fellow designers discover what is possible with technology. By analyzing the past, experimenting with the present, you learn what to improve. Leveraging on our experiences, together we create solutions that are sustainable and efficient. Current Projects- Data warehouse design, planning and building- Redesign of inter+act, LPA’s intranet platform- Streamlining accounting technology procedures- Deployment and customization of AutoCAD, Revit and Bluebeam- Instructor in the “Let’s Learn Together” series of Technology classes- Discovery and improvement of current technology process.
