I directed the site selection/location, design and construction of NRG Energy\'s LEED Platinum 100% sustainable micro-grid HQ in Princeton, NJ. The project came in on schedule and under budget. 537kW See-Thru Solar PV covered parking and rooftop. Both solar systems have rain water capture for the building\'s toilets and urinals - with gallons of on-site underground storage. An assembly area on the Green Roof. There is a 248 kW Nat Gas Co-Gen with heat rejection going to a 45 ton absorber for free critical load chilled water. Residual heat can be diverted to the building\'s returning baseboard hot water loop and/or to the snow/ice melt system for the front walkways. This enhances our safety program during inclement winter weather. A dedicated 900 kW emergency diesel generator and a 400 kW natural gas fired emergency/demand response generator. 500 kW battery/energy storage for PV smoothing during a passing cloud as well as demand response/management. The electrical system\'s controls optimize the available power from on-site self-generation, solar, wind, energy storage or grid power. There are two wind turbines at the front drive that generate electrical power that can be stored on site. We have 18 charging stations for electric vehicles to include 3 Phase \'Fast\' chargers. The parking lot is REV constructed (Ready for EV) with additional spare conduits under the parking lot surface for future EV charging expansion. The total building control system maintains all temperatures and lighting to include daylight harvesting and solar thermal heated water located on the \'Green Roof\' to enhance domestic potable hot water. To reduce our carbon footprint even more, employees utilize the NRG branded 15 passenger van to and from the local train stations. There are two NRG Solar Pergolas just outside our staffed gym and café. Bikes are available to NRG employees to take advantage of for maybe a ride to the Market Fair or to tour Princeton University\'s grounds. Continued.
