   Dr. Schlichtemeier just returned from a mission trip with LIGA to El Fuerte, Mexico. We really did operate on blind people. We screened about 700 prospective patients for sight restoring cataract surgery early in the morning. Then we worked like crazy until after dark every day.We had limited time so we were not able to operate on all the patients we would want. So we did the blind people, those who could not see in either eye. We operated on about 100 blind patients in only two days of surgery. Dr. Richard Villasenor and his wife Maria run the clinic in El Fuerte in the winter. I\'ll have to go back again next year and bring more help and another anesthesiologist.
