   Direct the underwriting operations of the NRECA Group Benefits Trust (medical, dental, vision, life, and disability programs). Lead a team of professionals executing plan modeling, renewal and proposal rating. Consult with other departments on the financial impact of eligibility and participation policy, reporting for members and internal customers, and evaluation of Trust financial performance. Ensure that the overall level of funding required for all group insurance products, determined with the Group Actuary, is met by implementing, on a cooperative (group employer) level, required rates by product. Ensure accurate rate table adjustments, factor changes (plan factors, area factors, trend and expense factors), and renewals in total. Coordinate with peers in the program management and operations functions to ensure that new products, services, and initiatives have the underwriting and pricing support to successfully be implemented. Represent the Trust financial interest on various internal plan operations committees. Manage and administer the renewal processes within the Underwriting department and take the lead role in coordinating the overall renewal process across departments. Work with insurance carriers, reinsurance carriers, and outside consultants as needed to develop pricing guidelines, benchmarking data, trend analysis, and new product specifications. Represent NRECA at appropriate meetings, conferences and other designated forums as the underwriting, pricing, and plan design subject matter expert, always exhibiting extensive knowledge, professionalism, and integrity to instill confidence in the membership and Board of Directors.
