ABOUT BILL KAUTT
I am passionate about understanding the human condition and believe that the study of history is one of the better mechanisms for doing so. I don’t really believe in historiographic schools, but rather, that researchers should use whatever methods and interpretive techniques are most appropriate to the situation. While I study military topics, they are not my only interests; but since war and political violence are so consequential to any society, I believe that understanding them is vital. Academic interests: Modern Irish and British History, asymmetric and irregular warfare, military logistics, the Military Orders, theology and just war theory.
