About Bill Heins
Investigating complex systems at the intersection of Earth Science and Business since the 1980s with quantitative models to support rational decision making. The biggest challenge today is decarbonizing the economy. As ever, fundamental geoscience is a key component of the puzzle. Subsurface flow of fluids is still a dominant theme in the energy systems of the future, whether for harvesting heat, storing hydrogen, or sequestering carbon. Geologic history determines the reservoir quality that makes or breaks project economics. If you want to know how the rocks will behave, you just have to ask them!
