About Bill Colosimo
Bill Colosimo is a passionate and experienced vocal music performer, educator, coach, clinician, and choral director, with over 40 years of active professional engagement in the vocal arts. Trained at Cranbrook (Bloomfield Hills, Michigan) and Brandeis University in vocal music and choral direction, Mr. Colosimo has produced, performed in, or directed over 200 professional or educational vocal music programs and workshops all over the East Coast, particularly in the Washington, DC, area, including such venues as the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Constitution Hall, Lisner Auditorium, Philadelphia’s Academy of Music, the National Mall, countless places of worship, and Georgetown and Salisbury Universities, as well as major concert venues like RFK Stadium, Nationals Park, the Patriot Center, the Verizon Center, and convention centers nationwide. Mr. Colosimo was named Music Director of the DC area\'s premier pops chorus, The Alexandria Singers, on January 1, 2007. In addition to his duties as Music Director for The Singers, he is also currently Musical Director of the acclaimed Singing Capital Chorus, a men’s a cappella ensemble. A sought-after clinician, workshop leader, and ensemble coach, Bill’s passion for music education and vocal performance for children and teenagers prompted his establishment of the Choral Foundation of Northern Virginia and its performing entity, the “Young Voices of Hope”, in 2005. He is currently the Foundation’s Founder and Artistic Director. Bill also directs music at St. Luke Catholic Church. He serves (or has served) on numerous boards and advisory committees dedicated to vocal music activity, including the Alexandria Arts Forum, the Arlington Arts Commission and the Curriculum Committee for the Diocese of Arlington. b••••••••@aol.com 57••••••76Specialties: Music direction, Vocal Instruction, Vocal Ensemble Coaching, Choral Organization training, Advocacy for Music Education and Performing Arts organizations
