About Bill Clyburn

I have 37 years breadth of experience in the downstream oil and gas industry. In 1995, I obtained my B.S. in Chemical Engineering while working full-time as a shift worker in operations. After graduation I accepted an entry level process engineering position and by 2016, I accepted a site leadership role as the Site Manager of Technical Services and Projects at LyondellBasell Houston Refinery. I was offered a retirement package in November 2020 and elected to retire; however, site management countered the retirement offer for me to stay on as a consulting engineer in lieu of retirement since a large number of employees opted to take the package. I worked as a consultant for the site until June 2021 and then decided to retire. I worked as a freelance consultant at CITGO Corpus Christi Refinery and then accepted an offer for the position of Manager of Refining Excellence as part of the Site Leadership Team with CITGO Corpus Christi on Sept. 1st, 2022.
