Senior Airworthiness & Certification Engineer 2005 to PresentResponsible for managing the Airworthiness & Certification processes within LM on the Merlin Mk1 programme. I was responsible for;• Supporting the Merlin Mk1 Chief Engineer in providing Design Certification for the Merlin Mk1 Weapon System, including writing the Aircraft Certificate of Design and managing the processes within the bounds of DEF-Stan 05-123.• Supporting the Merlin Mk1 Chief Airworthiness Engineer in providing aircraft flight clearance during production testing and delivery flights.• Merlin Mk1 Final Certificate of Design (CoD)(Oct 06 to Oct 07). Led the Certification activities to deliver the final CoD to close down the technical requirements of the Merlin Mk 1 programme. This involved ensuring the full documentation trail was complete and verified. Ultimately resulting in the formal signing of the CoD by the Merlin Mk1 Team Lead.• DAOS Audit and Accreditation (2008). Supported the Specialist Engineering Manager through the LM DAOS audit and accreditation process resulting in the renewal of the LM DAOS certificate. In parallel to managing the Merlin Mk1 Airworthiness and Certification programme I was tasked with the following additional special assignment;• VH-71 Configuration Manager (Europe) – (Part time from Jun 05 - Dec 08). Responsible for the Configuration Management of the European elements of the US Presidential Helicopter programme from Yeovil for 3 days a week. This involved performing the PCAs on the air-vehicles and FCA/PCA activity on any European made elements of the programme, whilst providing status updates, support and education to the US Configuration Management team members.
