ABOUT BIDYA DAHAL
My name is Bidya Dahal, and I am a crisis services phone aide at Niagara County Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse. I graduated from UB with a BA in Anthropology and Psychology, where I developed my data analysis skills and research interests. As a phone aide, I provide emotional support, crisis intervention, and referrals to callers who are experiencing mental health or substance abuse issues. I have handled over 500 calls, demonstrating compassion, empathy, and professionalism. I also volunteer as an undergraduate research assistant at UB\'s APAL, where I aid with their speech production and perception research. I have contributed to multiple publications and presentations, showcasing my analytical and communication skills. I am passionate about helping people and learning new things, and I am currently searching for full-time opportunities or apprenticeships in IT or customer services. I have previous experience as a personal care aide, a pharmacy technician, and an intern at Buffalo Human Evolutionary Morphology Lab and Discover716. These roles have enhanced my interpersonal, technical, and problem-solving skills. I am eager to apply my knowledge and abilities to new challenges and environments.
