About Bibek Parajuli
I am a protein engineer, biophysical scientist, and hiker. I enjoy nature photography, connecting with people and love solving problems in science and in life. My training as a scientist and my persistence to find solutions to problems align well with my goal for making a change in the quality of human life through better and affordable therapies. I have 10+ years experience working in academic and pharmaceutical setting. My key achievements include pioneering the development of novel screening methods in R&D setting for discovery of new compounds. My work has also been highlighted by American Chemical Society and Biophysical Society. Currently, I work as a Biophysical Scientist in Biologics Development group at Merck. I have a good understanding of Pharmaceutical Development, CMC workflow (upstream, downstream, analytical, formulation), ICH guidelines, characterization tools and analytical control strategies important from a regulatory standpoint.I have presented my research findings at 15+ national and international scientific meetings and conferences. I have demonstrated my project management skills in and outside the lab with contribution to lab operation (managing resources for >15 lab members), mentoring undergraduate student body as a teaching assistant (>150+ student body), managing 3 research projects (~8k budget/month), and serving as a Graduate Student Council Coordinator (100+ student body).
