About Bibek Pandit

I am interested in working on problems that challenge me. To that end, I have designed an entire CPU from scratch, written an end-to-end compiler for a C-like programming language, built a fall detection device for elderly hospital patients, and designed several distributed application systems. I apply the \"first principles method\" when working on problems whereby I tackle problems by designing solutions that are grounded in the basic principles of the field. This approach has not only helped me build durable, scalable, and high performant solutions, but it has also helped me develop a thorough understanding of the relevant technical field. My obsession for taking on challenging problems spans beyond the technical realm. As such, I have co-founded a couple education initiatives, worked on a startup, and led multiple student organizations. Through these experiences, I have learned to deal with people of various backgrounds, built strong communication skills, and developed the ability to make impactful decisions independently.Having recently graduated, I am currently looking for full-time software engineering roles at a place which would offer impactful projects and plentiful opportunities to grow.

    Incubate Nepal

    Apr 2020 — Present

Incubate Nepal is an organization founded by a group of MIT and Harvard Alumni with the goal of teaching project based learning to students in Nepal. In its inaugural 2020 version, Incubate Nepal received almost 500 applications from students all around Nepal. Our team selected a pool of 26 students from around Nepal who subsequently were divided into teams that worked on open ended-projects. The projects ranged from things like calculating the age of the universe using General Relativity to building a mobile application that helped the visually impaired people identify currency notes. The organizers, besides organizing and managing the entire program, also acted as mentors for the different teams as they worked on their projects.
