ABOUT BIANCA LOUISE ANDRADA

I’ve always been fascinated by how people interact with technology. That curiosity led me to pursue a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering at Syracuse University and an M.S. in Robotics and Autonomous Systems at Boston University. Through both academic and industry experience, I’ve seen how a thoughtful design can empower and ultimately transform lives.My passion lies at the intersection of healthcare and human factors. Over the years, I’ve developed a broad technical foundation—from programming (MATLAB, Python) and CAD (SolidWorks) to hands-on mechanical skills such as laser cutting, CNC machining, and milling. I also conducted research in biomaterials for optics and soft sensor design for surgical robotics in bronchoscopy. With an extensive research background, I wanted to expand my understanding of the product development lifecycle in industry. As a result, I’m now building expertise in Design Assurance, with a focus on design controls and human factors.In my current work, I engage in user research, usability testing, task analysis, and use-related risk analysis. I’ve put together Human Factors Engineering Reports for 510(k) submissions, helping ensure medical devices are both safe and effective for the intended users and use environments.I thrive in collaborative environments where I can build meaningful relationships, learn from diverse perspectives, and reflect deeply on how people’s lived experiences shape their interactions with technology. I believe the most impactful innovations start with empathy—and grow through iteration, insight, and inclusive design.
