About Bhoomika Prasad

My practice sits at the intersection of research-driven design and handcraft. As a textile designer and fiber artist, I translate complex phenomena into woven form, most recently through Woven Vibration, a series of woven sculptures that materialize wave physics using copper wire, reflective thread, linen, wool, and recycled cotton across handloom and TC2 Jacquard.On the industry side, I bring experience in print and surface design, CAD, colorwork, and production across luxury interiors, home textiles, and apparel. I interned at F. Schumacher & Co, where I recolored prints, managed strike-off filing, and maintained the archive. I currently teach weaving at Loop of the Loom and do part-time production work at Klein Design.I hold an MFA in Fiber, Textile and Weaving Arts from Parsons School of Design (2025) and a BDes in Textile Design from NIFT (2023). My work has been shown at NeoCon Chicago, the SDA Future Tense exhibition, and recognized by Arts Thread\'s Global Graduates Create Showcase. I collaborated with the UN IOM, Aquafil, and Parsons on Pattern Passage, a textile project visualizing migration data.Open to textile design, print design, CAD, colorist, and fiber art roles.
