As the Treasurer and member of Board of Directors, Mr. Kumar’s primary role is to provide financial management and leadership for Pallium India, Inc. Pallium India, Inc. is the North American affiliate of Pallium India. Established in 2015, Pallium India, Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in the USA focused on furthering Pallium India’s mission in palliative care. Pallium India, Inc. was established to serve the following primary roles:(i) increase awareness of Pallium India’s efforts in India among the Indian diaspora living in North America;(ii) promote and coordinate volunteer opportunities for palliative care medical/clinical experts to serve in knowledge-sharing, training, outpatient and inpatient care in Pallium India clinics located in India; and raise funds for Pallium India’s work in India. Funds raised would be used to:(a) catalyze the development of pain relief and palliative care services and their integration in health care;(b) provide palliative care education and support the development of training centers to train doctors, nurses, medico social workers and volunteers;(c) raise awareness about the need for palliative care; and (d) provide advocacy for delivery of services, education, building capacities, policy, research, and information on palliative care.
