Working on an NLP research project for CLEF CheckThat! 2026 focused on retrieving scientific papers referenced in social media posts.• Implemented and evaluated transformer-based dense retrieval models (E5, BGE, MPNet, MiniLM, Contriever).• Built a semantic search pipeline using embeddings and cosine similarity for document retrieval.• Evaluated models using the MRR@5 retrieval metric and compared baseline performance.• Currently fine-tuning top-performing models and experimenting with cross-encoder reranking to improve retrieval accuracy.
