About Bharati Belwalkar

Conducting exploratory research on workplace harassment during my undergraduate years at the University of Mumbai (India) was my amateur effort at venturing into I-O; a friend’s experience drew my attention to it. My decision to further study I-O psychology evolved from the sheer enjoyment and knowledge gained while working on this research. I, hence, earned my master\'s degree in I-O psychology from Florida Institute of Technology and later earned a doctoral degree in the same from Louisiana Tech University. Following Karl Marx\'s (1819-83) philosophy \"Practice without Theory is blind; theory without practice is sterile,” I have always attempted to hone my skills as a researcher-practitioner. I aspire to work with the greatest minds in I-O psychology and wish to continue learning about the state-of-the-art practices to solve complex organizational problems.My research and applied interests are selection, psychometrics, proactive personality, DEI, and technology. Of which, I consider selection and psychometrics to be my \"home turf.\" Lastly, contrary to the impression (the aforementioned content may create) about me, I have a fun side too.
