About Bhakti Hansoti
Dr Hansoti is a fellow in International Emergency Medicine and Public Health at John Hopkins, clinical instructor in the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins, and has recently completed a Masters in Public Health at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, concentrating in epidemiology and biostatistics. Bhakti has recently been awarded a Fogarty fellowship, which she will complete over the next two years at University of Cape Town in South Africa where she is currently located. Nationally Dr Hansoti has recently taken on the role of vice-president of the Global Emergency Medicine Academy (GEMA) at SAEM. Her training began in the international setting with medical school in Edinburgh and foundation training in London. This transatlantic upbringing and training combined encouraged an appreciation of the diversity of emergency medicine in different resource. She completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago (UoC). Over the years she has maintained a deep-seated interest in international emergency medicine while working in clinical settings such as Liberia, India, Ghana, Jamaica, China and Nepal.
