At HMEL, I am responsible for overseeing the operations of the Swing Plant, which produces LLDPE and HDPE grades using advanced Univation™ Polyethylene Technology. My role involves managing and controlling the entire production process through a sophisticated Honeywell DCS to ensure consistent product quality and plant reliability.Key duties include executing safe and efficient startup and shutdown procedures, managing grade transitions to control Melt Index and density within strict specifications. I ensure rigorous compliance with safety protocols including PTW (Permit to Work), HOTO (Hand Over Take Over), and LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) to maintain a safe working environment.I coordinate with cross-functional teams, including maintenance, process safety, and quality control, to troubleshoot operational issues promptly, minimize downtime, and improve process efficiency. My role also encompasses manpower planning, shift management, daily reporting, and KPI monitoring to align with production goals.Some of my key accomplishments include successfully leading the plant startup after turnaround without safety or operational incidents, reducing grade transition times by 20%, and collaborating with technical teams to resolve critical issues such as fluidized bed cyclone clogging. I have also contributed to energy optimization initiatives by fine-tuning degassing and extrusion parameters in partnership with the SWING team.I have actively participated in emergency preparedness drills, enhancing the plant\'s capability to respond to power and instrument air failures effectively. My commitment to safety is further reinforced by my certifications as a First Aider and trained Firefighter.Through continuous process improvements and a strong focus on safety and quality, I strive to maximize production output while minimizing risks and operational costs, contributing significantly to the success of the HMEL Swing Plant.
