About Beyza Boyacioglu
I\'m a Director and Editor with six years of experience in short/long form documentaries, interactive and immersive projects, and educational and commercial videos. My expertise covers all stages of production including development and story research, script writing and pitching, building a team and a budget, arranging logistics, shooting in the field, managing post production, and editing. I often work with international teams across the U.S, Europe and the Middle East, so I am familiar with the challenges of communicating across time zones and producing for overseas. Between 2014 and 2018, I was a part of MIT’s Open Documentary Lab (ODL) as a Producer, Project Manager and Researcher. My job included research, writing, and producing multimedia content about immersive technologies (VR, AR, AI, interactive and participatory platforms), for ODL’s digital publications. I have produced and ran weekly speaker series, an international conference on digital archiving titled “Update or Die” with Phi Centre in Canada, and a Mozilla workshop on surveillance and media. I represented ODL at festivals and markets at Sheffield Doc Fest and FilmGate Miami. My films and media projects have been exhibited at MoMA Documentary Fortnight, MoMA PS1, Creative Time Summit, IDFA, RIDM, Barbican Centre, Maysles Cinema, UnionDocs, Morelia International Film Festival!f Istanbul and others. I have received grants and awards from Chicken and Egg, LEF Foundation, SALT Research, MIT and Meetings on the Bridge. I was a fellow at UnionDocs and Greenhouse, and I am currently a member of Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective.
