ABOUT JOSHUA BEYTEBIERE

With over 11 years of practical laboratory experience in mammalian systems, molecular biology, and next-generation sequencing techniques (ChIP-seq, RNA-seq, ChIA-PET, DNA-seq, Methylation Sequencing), I’ve contributed to 3 peer-reviewed publications and played a key role in the launch of two NGS assay products.I have a proven track record in DVT study management and leadership, driving the completion of multiple projects, including the development and release of two successful NGS assay products. My technical expertise is complemented by strong written and oral communication skills, demonstrated through four oral conference presentations and seven poster presentations, including three best poster awards.I earned my Ph.D. at Texas A&M University under the mentorship of Dr. Jerome Menet, where I focused on circadian rhythms and how tissue-specific BMAL1 cistromes reveal rhythmic transcription’s association with enhancer-enhancer interactions. My work resulted in two first-author publications. In addition, I contributed to a cross-functional collaboration where we built cost-efficient metabolic cages to explore the role of rhythmic feeding in gene expression, leading to a co-authored paper.During my postdoctoral fellowship at The Salk Institute, I gained expertise in next-generation sequencing, data analysis, and pipeline development using the tidyverse and other tools. I built NGS analysis pipelines independently, deepening my knowledge of sequencing techniques and bioinformatics. At Illumina, I’ve worked both independently and within teams of up to 20 people, developing in-depth knowledge of NGS workflows, data analysis, and product development. I’ve utilized tools such as Awk, Bash, and R, alongside crontab, Perl, and Python, to automate data archiving processes. My leadership of the limit of detection study during DVT studies was critical to the successful launch of two NGS assay products.Key Skills: • Next-generation sequencing (NGS)| ChIP-seq | RNA-seq | Library Preparation | FACS | Flow Cytometry | qPCR | RNA/DNA/Protein Isolation • Data Analysis: R-programming, Bash Scripting, HOMER, Bowtie, Cufflinks, Perl, Awk, Python • Animal Handling: Mouse colony management, Hydrodynamic Tail Vein Injection, GenotypingLet’s connect!
