ABOUT MATTHEW CIMONE
I\'m Matthew I\'m fascinated that I live on this marvelous ball of rock we call Earth that is rocketing through the cosmos fueled by a giant ball of burning plasma we call the Sun. That thought brings a certain perspective to life I find comforting when I get stressed out about problems that aren\'t really problems and helps me focus on problems that really are problems. Our planet does have some really serious issues to address that I try to help with by running a non-profit called Esther\'s Echo The organization supports a really amazing woman in Sierra Leone who founded her own school. In a sense, then, my love of astronomy inspires me to do charity work and the convergence of the two fields is something I do speeches about.(See my TEDx talk below) I am currently producing a documentary called Chasing Atlantis that was inspired by the final flight of the Space Shuttle. The film is a personal journey that explores my love of space and science fiction and the way in which both brings us a sense of belonging and connectedness. You can also find me steering the helm of the Star Theatre Planetarium at the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre, or talking about space with an elephant named Charles
