   Building the next-gen Python driver for SQL Server – mssql-python – from the ground up, with a focus on performance, cross-platform compatibility, and modern developer experience. My role bridges C++ systems programming, Python bindings via PyBind11, and robust CI/CD pipelines to deliver a first-class, open-source experience to the Python community. Key Highlights- Architected and implemented native C++ integrations to expose advanced ODBC functionality through Python using PyBind11, enabling low-latency and async-ready database interactions- Spearheaded MacOS and Linux compatibility, tackling platform-specific linker and encoding challenges to deliver truly cross-platform wheels for multiple Python versions and architectures- Contributed to modernizing our build and test infrastructure using CMake, Azure DevOps, and cibuildwheel, with support for Windows x64, ARM64, MacOS, and beyond- Collaborated with internal stakeholders to refine connection pooling, enhance memory safety, and ensure compatibility with Entra ID authentication- Actively exploring the integration of AI-assisted development tools into the workflow – from code generation to test automation – to reduce dev cycle time and increase code quality.
