About Beverly Robertson
Beverly Robertson is a senior at Howard University studying broadcast journalism with a minor in sports administration. Originally from Boise, Idaho, by way of Liberia, she brings a unique and culturally grounded perspective to her work in sports and media. With a passion for storytelling and representation, Beverly is committed to amplifying Black voices and elevating narratives across sports, culture, and community.She was selected as a 2024 NBA x HBCU Fellow with the Los Angeles Lakers, where she rotated through Marketing, Community Relations, Ticketing, and Corporate Partnerships. In the summer of 2025, she served as a WNBA HBCU Event Intern for the WNBA All-Star, contributing to the communications department by supporting arena logistics, assisting with media availabilities and player interviews, managing media check-in at events, and helping moderate press conferences. She is also a 2026 Career Prep Fellow with Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT), sharpening her skills in leadership, communication, and industry readiness.On campus, Beverly serves as a Howard Athletics media relations and sports information assistant while also covering athletics as a sports reporter for The Hilltop, the nation’s oldest Black collegiate newspaper. Her experience also includes community organizing, content creation, and producing work that bridges authenticity, creativity, and purpose.Beverly’s career goal is to work at the intersection of sports journalism and cultural storytelling—whether on camera, behind the scenes, through her own content, or within media organizations shaping narratives. Grounded in her Liberian heritage and inspired by her family’s perseverance, she is driven by the belief that Black women deserve to be seen, heard, and leading within sports media and beyond.
