About Beverly J. Miller
I am contractor with Booz Allen Hamilton supporting the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) within the Office of Commercialization (OC) as a commercialization advisor. In this role, I work closely with program managers and startups to support the translation of complex scientific and technological breakthroughs into market-ready health products and services. I am passionate about translating benchtop achievements into real-world impact for patients, with a special interest in women’s health related medical devices. The intersection of regulatory compliance with groundbreaking innovations in medical devices has also been of particular interest, leading me to complete the Regulatory Affairs Certificate coursework for medical devices and pharmaceuticals offered by the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS). Prior to Booz/ARPA-H, I spent many years focused on the commercialization of medical devices for women’s health applications with experiences spanning both academic research (PhD, University of Virginia) and startup environments. By training I am a Chemical and Biomedical Engineer with a technical background in biomaterials as medical devices for applications such as pelvic organ prolapse and breast reconstruction following breast cancer management. These technical contributions have led to three patents and three publications. I am an effective communicator with both technical and lay language in order to interact with all interested parties or key opinion leaders.
