About Betty M.

A graduate from the University of Connecticut majoring in Psychological Sciences with a minor in Biological Sciences. I’m deeply interested in understanding human behavior, mental health, and how biology and genetics influence the mind. I’m currently exploring graduate programs where I can continue studying psychology or something closely related to genetics, with the goal of building a career that combines both areas. On campus, I’m a mentor through the Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) program, where I support underrepresented students in STEM fields through academic guidance and peer mentorship. I also work at the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts as a Box Office Specialist, where I’ve gained strong customer service and administrative experience. In addition to that, I regularly tutor my peers in psychology, biology, and writing something I’ve been doing since high school. I enjoy breaking down tough topics and helping others feel more confident in their academic journey. I believe in creating safe, encouraging environments where people feel heard and supported.I’m passionate about learning, mentorship, and mental wellness and I\'m excited to keep growing personally and professionally as I prepare for graduate school.
