ABOUT BETSY KORONA

Betsy Korona is an award-winning news executive at NBC News Group. She is responsible for driving up-to-the-minute reporting for the network’s live cable and streaming channels: MSNBC & NBC News NOW. A long-time advocate of multiplatform storytelling, Betsy pioneers new pathways for editorial collaboration and resource optimization across the News Group’s platforms. During her two decades in news, she has produced and managed coverage of every major story, including Emmy and Murrow award winning coverage of January 6th, multiple U.S. Presidential and Midterm elections, the Ukraine War, global pandemic, border crisis, and natural disasters. She drew a younger, more diverse audience to MSNBC cable and streaming as Senior Executive Producer for “Field Report with Paola Ramos,” a three-part, Emmy-nominated documentary series. Earlier at MSNBC, she produced shows, on-scene breaking live and special event coverage and led control rooms. She has worked alongside the network’s top talent and built a reputation as a trusted advisor, mentor and coach. Previously, at Channel One News, Betsy was integrally involved in pioneering a new digital journalism workflow for the teen news network. Betsy holds an MBA with distinction from NYU’s Stern School of Business and graduated summa cum laude from The College of William & Mary. She has guest lectured at Brown University and The George Washington University, and was keynote speaker at Florida International University’s Thought Leaders Forum. She is driven by a commitment to journalistic excellence, informing audiences and mentoring the next generation of media professionals.
